Shinkenkan dojo
members Andrew Humeniuk, Rob Huppée and Darko Gedelovski participated
in The 21st International Batto-Do Federation Zenkoku Taikai / 24th
Toyama Ryu Nakamura Ryu Battodo Taikai in Yokohama, Japan. On
that occassion, Andrew Humeniuk & Rob Huppée
passed their Shodan test and Darko Gedelovski passed a Godan test.
This
year's Takai was unique: 61 participants and guests from USA, UK, South
Africa, Australia, Korea, Hong Kong and Canada. Besides competition and
testing, it was a great opportunity to train under the guidance of
Kakuseikai dojo teachers and meet many members from other countries and
dojos, from whom many visited Japan for a first time. After Taikai, a
short trip to Aizu Wakamatsu city was organized, on which occassion
overseas participants learned more about Japanese history and history
of Aizu region in Fukushima prefecture.
Congratulations to
all Taikai winners and organizers with a hope to see you
soon on
future events, in Japan or somewhere else.
